FAQ Page (ISC)

Abstracts

Q: How do I submit an abstract?
A: View Submit Science page

Q: Where can I view abstracts from previous years?
A: Last year’s abstracts are available online. For all other previous year’s abstracts, see the ISC Archive page.

Q: What is your 2025 Abstract Embargo Policy?
A: Abstracts and presentations are embargoed for release at 5 a.m. ET, Thursday, January 30, 2025, and are therefore prohibited from release until date and time of AHA designated embargo time. Authors will be contacted by AHA communications if they are selected to participate in an AHA news event.

Late-Breaking Science abstracts are embargoed until date and start time of their individual presentation.

Written embargoed information cannot be shared with anyone outside of the AHA with the exception of a journal manuscript where one-on-one embargoed media interviews can be conducted as long as the reporter agrees to abide by the embargo policy. Failure to honor embargo policies will result in this abstract being withdrawn and future abstracts also being barred from presentation.

Q: How do I submit my science/abstract to be considered for the ISC the State-of-the-Science Stroke Nursing Symposium or HEADS-UP Pre-Con?
A: Once you have signed in, select the applicable abstract type. If you submit an abstract for ISC, your abstract may be selected for either an oral, poster or moderated poster presentation. If you submit an abstract to the Nursing Symposium, your abstract may be selected for either an oral presentation at the Nursing Symposium, or for poster or moderated poster presentation at the International Stroke Conference. If you submit an abstract for the HEADS-UP Pre-Con, your abstract may be selected for a moderated poster presentation at the HEADS-UP Pre-Con.

If accepted, Registration will be required for the event(s) in which your abstract(s) will be presented. You may submit the same abstract to ISC, Nursing Symposium and HEADS-UP, but it can only be accepted for and presented at one event.

Q: How do I apply for an Early Career Investigator Award?

To complete your award application, visit the Awards page for a list of additional items that must be received by the AHA/ASA.
